Bunga Bondar Market

The traditional market in bunga bondar is not very big, but the place is very crowded, people buy whatever they need, as you see in the picture, there are boxes everywhere, every seller have their own space.

The traditional market is crowded on friday, because on that day, there are more seller from outside village.

This is my uncle khrisna, it's a hindu's name, but actually we are moslems. He stays at Padang, the city is very religious, and the people are nice. When we go to padang, we stay at his house.

He has a lovely wife, and two daughters. And he loves computer like me.

He is a contractor, and he works at Pakanbaru, that's four hours travelling from padang. He returns to his house at padang only on the weekend.

 

 

 

Tapanuli people have their own traditional clothing which is very popular, they called it 'ulos', actually, every region of north sumatra have their own pattern.

The 'Ulos' is a 'must-have' when we have a traditional occation. if it's a marriage party, the ulos will be covering the two couples. For other occation the ulos can be used as a cover or decoration.

The 'Ulos' is produced by older woman, and traditionally home made business. They sell it beetween families or other region.

But in big city like medan, we can find a lot of ulos design, they came from many villages. And every villages have their uniqness in their design.

Don't forget to buy some ulos when you're in north sumatra.
